Meet Fatimah

Qualified AAT Accountant, Bookkeeper, board member of charities, volunteer, fundraiser, entrepreneur, bookkeeping tutor, workshop facilitator, business adviser and parent to two ambitious young men.

After being made redundant after 16 years I decided I wanted a more flexible role to work around my family, but there wasn’t anything that suited me and my circumstances. I decided to create my own role, which is when AFR Accountancy Services was founded in Derby.

My passion is to take the stress away of bookkeeping and tax returns so you can focus on running your business. I am a Receipt Bank and Xero partner which enables me to provide a paperless, digital and stress-free service. My clients submit their receipts electronically through a mobile app and their bank statements are connected through a bank feed giving real time information. There is no more stress about finding receipts or bank statements.

I have years of diverse experience supporting startups with one to one advice and delivery of finance workshops at the local university.
As a parent and finance professional, I am  passionate about making a difference in the community. I am privileged to be a trustee board member and provide finance support and fundraising to a local charity supporting vulnerable families.

Bookkeeping is essential to running a successful business and I share my knowledge and experience by provide one to one training. I have taught bookkeeping to encourage learners to become self-employed or progress to a career in finance.

When I am not working, I make time to relax through yoga, running and swimming. Cooking is another passion of mine, and I love to have family and friends around and socialise over food.

Making a difference

AFR Accountancy Services Ltd  is committed to giving back to the community and making a difference to the world. We volunteer on average the equivalent of 1 day a month in time to support local charities in Derby.

We donate 10% of our income to supporting children and women in financial difficulties.

An annual curry night fundraiser is delivered to raise vital funds for Women’s Day Festival Derby, this curry night has now been successfully running for over 5 years.

We help to reduce the carbon footprint and congestion by utilising video calls with clients to provide more flexibility save on your time. We work in a paperless environment to help reduce the impact on forestation, as a result all accounts are submitted through a secure portal for electronic approval to the client. This always provides an efficient and traceable service.
